Cinnamoroll is Cafe Cinnamon's official mascot. He is quite shy, but very friendly, and sometimes takes a nap on customers' laps. He can fly through the air by flapping his huge ears.
Cinnamoroll (シナモロール, Shinamorōru) was created in 2001, with character designs from Miyuki Okumura.[7] The main character, who is known by the names Cinnamoroll and Cinnamon (シナモン, Shinamon), is depicted as a white dog with a curly tail that resembles a cinnamon roll, and long ears he can fly with. Per official profiles his birthday is March 6.[160] Other characters in the series include Cappuccino (カプチーノ, Kapuchīno), with a mouth that looks like a cup of cappuccino, Chiffon (シフォン, Shifon) with ears that are fluffy like a chiffon cake, Espresso (エスプレッソ, Esupuresso) with a Mozart hairstyle, Mocha (モカ, Moka) with chocolate-brown fur, and Milk (みるく, Miruku), a white baby puppy.[161][162] An anime film featuring Cinnamoroll called Cinnamon the Movie was released in 2007, and a manga series by Yumi Tsukirino called Fluffy, Fluffy Cinnamoroll (ふわふわ♥シナモン, Fuwafuwa ♥ Shinamon) was published between 2004 and 2008.[163] In 2023 Sanrio started a YouTube channel for Cinnamon which streams a short anime called Cinnamon Anime Damon (シナモンアニメだもん, Shinamon Anime Damon).[164][165] with an English version uploaded to Sanrio's American Youtube Channel on September 11, 2023. [166] Several video games featuring Cinnamoroll were released for Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS.[167] In addition to this Cinnamon has appeared as a supporting character in several other animated series and video games from Sanrio. Cinnamoroll expanded into two side series: Cinnamoangels (シナモエンジェルス, Shinamoenjerusu) in 2005 and Lloromannic (ルロロマニック, Ruroromanikku) in 2007. Cinnamoroll was the second most successful Sanrio character in 2005, after Hello Kitty.[135] Cinnamoroll was voted number 1 in the Sanrio Character Rankings 2017–2018, and again in 2020–2022.[168][169][170] Cinnamoroll (シナモロール), or Cinnamon (シナモン), is a Sanrio character and a member of the Cinnamoroll universe. Cinnamon is shy but friendly, and always wants to help out her friends when they need it. She works at Café Cinnamon, and sometimes sleeps on customers laps. Cinnamon's favorite food is warm, fresh cinnamon rolls. Cinnamon was deemed the most popular Sanrio character in 2020 - 2023, winning first place in the Sanrio Character Ranking. Cinnamoroll, created by Sanrio, the Japanese company renowned for Hello Kitty, is a beloved character who first appeared in 2002. She is characterized by her white, fluffy appearance and large, floppy ears that enable her to fly. The most distinctive feature of Cinnamoroll is her tail, which curls up just like a cinnamon roll, giving rise to her name.
